"A musical stew of soul-influenced rock seasoned with roots, funk, blues and country, the sounds of The Dirty Guv’nahs always get the crowd dancing. In 2006, The Guvs began when bass player Justin Hoskins offered his “band” to play at a benefit concert. With two weeks to prepare, Hoskins recruited his brother Aaron along with James Trimble and Chris Doody. The Guv’nah, a mutual friend, introduced them to guitarist Michael Jenkins, and the band was created. None of them had played in a band, but something clicked. In 2009, The Guvs played at the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, and after a near sell-out show, they were invited to perform at Bonnaroo.
