"These acoustic reflections were mainly recorded in Thailand, drawing from a western style of finger picking combined with a meditation on the Thai landscape. Ed Cooke uses this inspiration to process and explore his guitar, whether acoustic or electric, sometimes blue and sometimes uplifting.
The cd contains drifting instrumentals which pick their way cautiously and ring hypnotically. Ed enjoys blending and reversing this sound with electronic and acoustic backing. His guitar muses on events and places he has seen or been too in his journey through an often misunderstood place.
The cd also features an intimate duet, called ‘St Augustine’, with Stephen Lewis, (Rameses iii / Padang Food Tigers). Accompanied by a good friend and inspiration the song has an improvised feel, which blends in with the natural and suburban background sounds. It also contains a nostalgia for home." (Bandcamp)
