"In the continental United States, New Jersey is just about as physically far from the sandy coasts of California as you can get. Yet, nestled quietly for now in the Garden State is a two piece band called Slow Animal who make fuzzy sunshine-pop that plays out like an anthem for Californian beach-bums, or for anyone looking to have fun in the sun.
Slow Animal plays sunny, blown-out, fun-loving garage pop that bounces hyper-actively with a soulful swing. It’s part punk, very fuzzy and is the type of music that like the sun when basking in it makes you feel better. Their new EP, which is availible for free, will turn some heads. I can’t say much more about them – they are, without a doubt, one of my new favorite bands.
