"Singer and lyricist, filmmaker and performance artist, Marianne Dissard was born within sight of the Pyrénées mountains in the South of France but has lived in the American West since the age of 16. Calexico fans will recognize Marianne as Madame to Joey Burns’ lovestruck gold digger on Calexico’s hit single, “Ballad of Cable Hogue” from their 2000 album “Hot Rail”. Marianne has been living in Tucson, Arizona since she headed there to make “Drunken Bees”, a documentary on Giant Sand and Howe Gelb.

Listed as one of “50 French people making their mark on the USA” in France-Amérique Magazine, Tucson-based French chanteuse Marianne Dissard toured extensively the world over with her 1st album, the Calexico-produced “L’Entredeux” (Coup de Coeur from Académie Charles Cros, “Top Ten French albums of the Decade” on various blogs).
